User-Centric Design for Success: A Marketing Site Redesign

SOS's marketing site serves as a critical platform to showcase the brand and provide a glimpse into the powerful software and products offered. After completing the style guide, it became important to implement its components and styles across all brand touch-points.

The Problem
The existing marketing site felt dated and was weighed down by too much content. It felt disjointed from the new style guide criteria and needed to updated with the latest UI/UX components and ADA compliance standards.

Research

Since SOS Inventory is closely linked to QuickBooks Online, I wanted to incorporate familiar visual elements that users were already acquainted with. By doing so, the marketing site would provide a sense of continuity and familiarity for existing users, ensuring ease of use and a seamless transition. Additionally, thorough research into current style and industry trends guided the design direction.

Design

I created a visually appealing design while ensuring that interactions felt effortless and intuitive. By carefully crafting the design elements, my goal was to accelerate user progress and create an inviting space that resonated with visitors. The design was inclusive, allowing all users to access and understand the content regardless of their abilities or literacy level.

Challenges I Faced

One of the key challenges encountered during the redesign process was simplifying the complexity of the product descriptions and streamlining the amount of information presented to customers. Working closely with the copy team, we collaborated to reduce the volume of information. By condensing the content, our aim was to make it more digestible, enabling visitors to easily understand the software's capabilities and benefits.

Outcome

The redesign of Saddle Oak Software's marketing site resulted in a cohesive brand experience that effectively showcased the software's power and offerings. By integrating the components of the style guide, I was able to achieve a consistent visual identity, promoting brand recognition and building trust among visitors. The modern and clean design, complemented by intuitive interactions, created an engaging user experience that encouraged exploration and ultimately drove conversions. Moreover, by meeting ADA compliance standards, SOS ensured content was accessible to everyone, further enhancing inclusivity and user satisfaction.

In conclusion, through the incorporation of familiar elements and current industry trends, a modern and accessible platform was achieved. The simplified content and intuitive design enabled visitors to easily comprehend and navigate the site, enhancing their overall experience. Ultimately, this redesign became a powerful tool for showcasing SOS's software offerings, fostering brand recognition, and driving customer engagement.
